Fundamentals is your start to a new you! Using Alison Hogan Pilates you learn about your body and how to locate and engage powerful muscles you don’t even know you have.

After completing the Fundamentals series you will progress to the Intermediate series. There is more of a challenge, as it builds on from what is learned in Fundamentals.

After completing the Intermediate series you will move on to the Progressive series. This is the most advanced and challenging class. This class pushes the body, demanding control and strength in your practice.

Fundamentals

Class Description
Fundamentals – beginner level of Pilates.

The classes are set in a contemporary fully equipped, airy, and spacious studio.
It is important to me that you feel comfortable and at ease both on arrival and throughout your class. When you start I familiarise myself with your goals and your motivations. On enrolment I take the time to discuss with you any injuries, illnesses or physical limitations. This allows me to evaluate your individual capabilities while challenging you to achieve your goals. My extensive experience has given me the ability to quickly identify incorrect posture and body alignment, which enables me to ensure you, are working 100%, achieving correct alignment, and focusing on correct muscle engagement.

For me during a Fundamentals class I want to ensure you learn the right muscles to engage so you are truly learning the Pilates technique.

In a fundamentals class I gently guide you through the Principles of Pilates.
You learn:
•    To locate and engage your pelvic floor and understand the importance of it.
•    To correct spinal alignment and posture.
•    To understand how to use your breath to activate & tighten your mid-section.
•    To learn body awareness

The class provides excellent clear instructions with occasional demonstrations. I use a-hands-on approach to check alignment and ensure the right engagement of core muscles is achieved.
The studio is fully equipped so you need only to bring a towel, water, and yourself!
You will leave feeling relaxed and knowing you are in the best hands to learn pure Pilates. You will want to come back to every class!

Intermediate

It is suitable for those who are comfortable with their level of body awareness and who wish to explore more challenging Alison Hogan Pilates exercises.
Intermediate is an improvers course of Pilates.
Class Description

Intermediate starts with the introduction of various types of equipment.
Alison Hogan Pilates is an individual experience because we all have different goals and body types. All exercises are tailored to the client’s individual flexibility and strength.
Changes at Intermediate
•    Less rest time between exercises
•    Use of equipment
•    Introduction of advanced exercises for preparation for Progressive
These changes make your practice more personal. You feel more challenged, energised, and rejuvenated. As the weeks go on you will see your desired real results.

Progressive

This class pushes the body, demanding control and strength in your practice. It is only suitable for those who have completed the Intermediate level of Alison Hogan Pilates.
Progressive is the ultimate workout course of Pilates.

Progressive classes are designed for people who wish to deepen their Pilates practice. Progressive Pilates is exactly that, progressive. I aim to continually evolve your Pilates experience so you are always challenged, energised, strengthened and see the changes.
Progressive clients are guided through exercises that strengthen their weaker muscles, release their tighter muscles, and lengthen their shorter muscles.
Alison Hogan Pilates is an individual experience because we all have different goals and body types. All exercises are tailored to the client’s individual flexibility and strength.
